The Walker Scientific line of DC solenoids is ideally suited for work in laser and plasma research, polarized light experiments, biological research and microwave TWT's.
Three lengths (16", 20" and 28") are available as standard products. Each length is available with a choice of bore size. Standard bores are 2",
2.5", 3", 3.5", 4" and 5". Finally each model may be ordered with a choice of field strength of 1000 gauss, 1200 gauss or 1500 gauss.
Each solenoid is epoxy bonded and cast into a single monolithic structure with power and water connections protruding from a common side. The solenoids are wound with a rectangular
copper conductor on a non-magnetic metal bobbin, assuring a smooth inner bore.
Eight-inch square, non-magnetic termination flanges are incorporated at each end with four precisely drilled mounting holes positioned to allow end-to-end stacking
with a bore alignment of 0.005 TIR (Total Indicator Reading). Magnetic metal termination flanges are also available.
All coils require 2 gpm water cooling. The cooling coils are electrically isolated from the current carrying conductors, so that no shunt current leakage paths are
present. Auxiliary cooling apparatus such as de-ionizers or heat exchangers are not required.
If your requirement cannot be met with one from our standard solenoids, we can design to meet your specific application.
